A paper on the impacts of the CASFS Apprenticeship appears in the inaugural issue of the Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development. Written by CASFS researcher Jan Perez, UC Davis postdoctoral student Damian Parr (a CASFS Apprenticeship grad) and UCSC graduate student Linnea Beckett, the paper is part of the new journal’s “Growing New Farmers” special topic call and is now available online. Title: A Taste of the Harvest: Life Lab’s Annual Benefit
Location: Garden Classroom, UCSC Farm

Description: Come enjoy a seasonal tasting prepared by Chef Jon Dickinson of Cafe Cruz on tables set in the garden overlooking the Monterey Bay.
The tasting features local wind and beer and produce from local farms, including Life Lab’s “Food, What?!” Youth Farm and Pinnacle Organic. The silent auction has a large array of gifts and services from local businesses.
