Renting the Hay Barn
Thank you for your interest in the Hay Barn at the University of California, Santa Cruz, operated by the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems (CASFS).
Built in the 1860s for the Cowell Ranch, the Hay Barn was renovated in 2015. The new structure incorporates some of the barn’s original building materials anduses the historic mortise and tenon joinery technique to achieve a rustic yet contemporary structure. The result is a beautiful and dramatic signature building with a soaring, spacious interior offering a unique setting for weddings, banquets, barn dances, concerts, conferences, and much more.
The Hay Barn is conveniently located near the main entrance to the UCSC campus and adjacent to the beautiful 30-acre CASFS organic farm, with a walking path connecting the Hay Barn site to the farm.
