Chancellor Blumenthal’s signing of the UCSC Real Food Campus Commitment was a highlight of the recent Breaking Ground 2012: Students Uniting for a Real Food Economy conference at UC Santa Cruz. The conference brought student leaders from across the US to share experiences and gain skills in advancing the effort to bring more real food to college campuses. Congratulations to UCSC’s Food Systems Working Group students and to CASFS food systems researcher Tim Galarneau for making this first nationwide Real Food conference a success.
