Volunteer opportunities

Volunteer opportunities with the Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems and the Friends of the Farm & Garden include helping with community events, working at the UCSC Farm or Alan Chadwick Garden, taking part in our docent program, and other activities. We especially need volunteers to help with our annual Harvest Festival in the fall.

Volunteers are welcome to help harvest and glean foods at the UCSC Farm and Alan Chadwick Garden starting in early June. The weekly schedule:

• Alan Chadwick Garden, Tuesdays and Fridays, 8-10 am for harvest

• UCSC Farm Garden, Tuesdays and Fridays, 8-10 am for harvest

• UCSC Farm Field (meet at packing shed), first and third Wednesdays, 7:30-8:30 am for gleaning

Wear close-toed shoes, sun protection, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Please note that parking restrictions apply; you will need to get a parking permit if bringing a car to campus.
