Title: Sowing and Saving the Seeds of the CASFS Farm
Location: UCSC Farm
Link out: Click here
Description: When you go to the grocery store, the farmers market, the dining hall, or even your local CSA, you may not know the story behind where the food came from. Seeds are the foundational elements, the genetic material, that make up the diverse array of produce that we are blessed to have access to. Join us at the farm to learn about the cultivars that are used for the farm stand, the CSA, and the dining halls. We will be exposed to the specific varieties that are grown at the farm, have a chance to save seeds on food crops grown at the farm, and taste the myriad of flavors at the farm. If you want to expand your appreciation for food beyond the organic label, then come learn about the cultural history behind the seeds that have been passed down from generations in the past. See the web link for registration details.
