Apprenticeship Application Form: Housing Addendum
Tent cabins will be built for the apprentices! In the past, apprentices have been allowed to live on the UCSC Farm in their own tents. This will not be allowed in 2010, but we have raised the funds for, and are in the process of building, 36 rustic tent cabins (see description and architect drawings).
The Apprenticeship program will have 32 cabin spaces for the 2010 apprentices (the other four will be occupied by 2nd-year apprentices, who serve as teaching assistants for the program).
In addition to the 32 tent cabin spaces, there will be an additional 7 apprenticeship slots available to people who can live off-campus (see notes below).
Please put one check below:
In submitting my application,
_ I am only interested in living on the CASFS Farm in an apprentice tent cabin.
or
_ My first choice is to live on the CASFS Farm in an apprentice tent cabin, but if that option is not possible, I would find my own housing off-campus.
or
_ I am only interested in living off-campus.
Notes:
The tuition cost remains the same ($4,800 for 2010) whether or not you choose to live in a tent cabin or off-campus.
If you choose to live off-campus, you are responsible for finding and paying for your own housing. The Apprenticeship program does not have enough staffing to provide assistance in this area, but the UCSC Campus Rentals Office is a great resource (it is available to Extension students for $10 for 30 days).
There will be a $100 refundable security deposit for the tent cabins.
