Practical Training / Farm & Garden ApprenticeshipThe Center offers practical as well as academic training in the techniques of agroecology and organic farming and gardening. The Apprenticeship in Ecological Horticulture (see below) is the oldest of the Center's programs, offering hands-on training at the UCSC Farm and Alan Chadwick Garden. Academic and practical training in agroecology and sustainable agriculture is also offered through a new UCSC Summer Session course and international courses coordinated by Center faculty affiliates and staff. Please note: The apprenticeship information below is for our 2009 program. We are in the process of raising funds to build tent cabins for 2010; the campaign ends June 30th (see www.growafarmer.org). We plan to update our web site in July with the 2010 Apprentice course information (2010 tuition, etc.) and appreciate your patience! The application deadline for international applicants is September 1st (except Canadians) and October 15th for everyone else. The Apprenticeship in Ecological Horticulture
