Christof started out at CASFS as an apprentice in 1994 after working in landscaping and plant propagation for a number of years. He has been the Farm Garden manager and instructor at CASFS since 1999. His job duties include teaching Apprenticeship classes about the foundations of organic agriculture practices and changing the food system, supporting intern and student education, managing the yearly plant sale alongside Assistant Manager Kellee Matsushita-Tseng, and scheduling sowing and bed turnover.

Christof loves working at CASFS because he's able to engage with the land and critters on a daily basis, work with inspiring and idealistic individuals that come through CASFS, and he enjoys weaving together land stewardship and crop production with food systems change and equity. He also enjoys the continual learning that he experiences working at CASFS. Christof has two goals in his role as Farm Garden manager and instructor: to steward a healthy, productive, and biodiverse ecosystem, as well as to facilitate a learning environment in which everyone has an opportunity to thrive.
