7th Annual Farm to Fork Benefit Dinner tickets available

Benefit dinner takes place on Sunday, August 19 at the UC Santa Cruz Farm

July 19, 2018

Take a field-side seat at the Farm to Fork dinner at the UC Santa Cruz Farm overlooking the Monterey Bay and celebrate the work of the Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems (CASFS). The annual dinner takes place on Sunday, August 19, with proceeds benefiting the educational programs based at the UCSC Farm & Garden.

The event gets underway with a reception and tours of the 30-acre organic UC Santa Cruz Farm starting at 3 p.m. Dinner begins at 5 p.m., featuring the culinary creations of award-winning My Mom’s Mole and highlighting organic produce from the UCSC Farm & Garden and other locally sourced ingredients.

The evening's speakers will discuss the important role of the Farm & Garden and CASFS in helping make UCSC a “hunger-free campus” for all students, many of whom are facing the challenge of covering food and housing costs in an increasingly expensive region. Dinner speakers include CASFS executive director Daniel Press, education coordinator Tim Galarneau, dean of students coordinator Rosalinda Gallegos, and David Robles, an advanced apprentice in the CASFS Apprenticeship program.

Dessert will be served in the Cowell Ranch Hay Barn, a beautifully rebuilt historic structure adjacent to the farm. Enjoy music and dancing in the Hay Barn to round out the evening.

Tickets to the Farm to Fork dinner are $100 per person. See UC Santa Cruz's Special Events website for more information and to purchase tickets.
