Mission  Statement

The Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems is a research, education, and public service program at the University of California, Santa Cruz, dedicated to increasing ecological sustainability and social justice in the food and agriculture system.

The Center operates the 3-acre Alan Chadwick Garden and the 30-acre UCSC Farm, which serve as research, teaching, and training facilities.

Upcoming  Deadlines

Measure 43 Funding is available to support 2014-2015 UCSC undergraduate research and education grants on food system education and outreach events/programs, campus garden efforts, and student food system undergraduate research. Application deadline is December 10, 2014. See the online application form here.

UCSC undergraduates and student groups can also apply for funding to support visiting speakers whose work is related to the goals of Measure 43. These funds are available quarterly. See the online application form for details.
